TOWN MEETING WITH THE PARTY MAYOR
– Distortion questioned, examined and debated

When Friday came round, The Institute was ready to rumble. In any case, we were looking forward to this year’s grand finale, the debate about Distortion where the festival’s ‘Chef d’ Orchestre’, Thomas Flerquin, was in the firing line. Moderated by Thor Martin Jensen (AKA Copenhipster), and co-curated with Theory & Practice, we sought to create a forum where a deeper examination of the Distortion phenomenon could give way to fruitful debate. And it did. The spacious yard of KPH Projects on Enghavevej acted as a great location and when things got underway with Thomas discussing in his idiosyncratic Franco-Danish dialect and Thor Martin pitching a good deal of probing curve balls, (while the local kids performed breakneck bouts of parkour in the background) it became an hour of civilized yet passionate debate. A fitting conclusion to this year’s Distortion Institute.

Shout-out: co-curators Theory & Practice, Thomas F, Thor Martin and all the people who were curious enough to show up to our events!
